7 Easy & Adorable Crafts to Make for Thanksgiving

Don’t you love Fall? Especially around here in the Pacific Northwest, because we have SO MANY trees here! Fall also gets me in the mood to work on some new projects– like making crafts for Thanksgiving! Well keep reading because I’ve put together a short list of some fun, easy, and super cute project ideas to-do, for you!

I’m really into decorating and I especially love decor that has been handmade, preferably by my own hands. BUT, I admit that I am a little picky about what I make or decorate with.

I want decor that looks classic and timeless. (And that won’t break easily!) So, that means decorations that will last year after year. These ideas are ones that you can make too, and they will still look great even if your change-up or alter your décor every year.

1. “Falling Leaves” Canvas

I found this on Pinterest, by Clarissa from The View from Here, and just thought it was so clever! And this goes right along with what I started with above, about loving the Fall leaves. She gives a great tutorial with simple to understand directions and pictures.

(Plus she has the best name ever, don’t you think? If only she spelled it with 2 r’s and just 1 s.) *wink*

2. Kraft Paper Silverware Place Card

Beautiful! These lovely cards were designed by Jessica from Fantabulosity. and these are SO easily customize-able, and honestly, could be used at almost any event, year round. I might just have to use these myself for more than just Thanksgiving.

3. Mini Rosemary Wreath Place Cards

Okay, so maybe these ones look a little more Christmas than Thanksgiving, but when I saw them, I was just in love! Gorgeous really don’t you think?

Check out the tutorial from Camille Styles on how to make these. Alternatively, you could also leave the name cards off and use them as napkin ring holders. Or use another herb like sage.

4. Thanksgiving Pumpkin Flower Centerpieces

Wow– I must have been under a table, but I’ve either never seen these before, or I didn’t realize when they were. So many options to make this centerpiece the star of every Thanksgiving table.

You’ll probably find several other tutorials and images if you search, but I thought this one was too beautiful and looked like something that I could actually attempt doing myself! See more at Room for Improvements blog.

5. Fabric Napkin Bread Warmer

This is so cute and totally functional! I found this on Tried & True blog by Vanessa Brady. She provides a fabulous tutorial and free pattern.

Can you imagine making one of these in your fav fabrics? I’m already thinking I could make a bunch of these as Christmas gifts for family or co-workers. Yeah?

6. Felt Leaf Garland

Okay, so I found this image on Pinterest from a Target sponsored Ad, but for the life of me, I can’t find it on their website! (So, I’m sorry for not linking to your item Target, but it’s not there)

However, IMO I think that you could easily make this. You’d just need to create yourself a couple leaf patterns, one bigger and one slightly smaller.

Fall Felt Garland

Cut out all different colors of leaves with felt, and then get a string of some kind and glue them to the string. It looks like the bigger leaf is on the back of the string and the smaller is glued to the big one and the string from the front.

I’m going to try this, if you do too, I’d love to see a picture of it!

I also found this tutorial on Paper Rose blog—and it’s also absolutely adorable! Looks like it will take a little more effort, and some sewing, but it’s SUPER cute. Check out the tutorial- a free pattern is also provided.

7. Kid’s Turkey Shirt

Lastly, maybe this doesn’t fit into my “classy” classification, but I decided to include it because I  plan on making some for my nephews and nieces and thought you might like the idea too!

I found this idea through blog searching. (It looks like it originally appeared on the blog K&E Darlin Designs, but it doesn’t look like the blog is being updated anymore and their Etsy shop does not exist either.)

BUT, this definitely looks like something that wouldn’t be too hard to make. You’re basically using 2-3 (or however many you want) different fabrics- one for the body, one for the tail feathers, then a yellowish triangle for the beak, and black buttons or felt for the eyes. Then you would applique it all on a simple white t-shirt and there you have it!
